We called in for delivery and were delighted when the food arrived in less than 30 minutes! The food was very good, their egg rolls and egg drop soup are especially good here.

Great little find. Finally authentic Chinese food. Everything is fresh and delicious. The hot bowls are hands down my favorite. If you are tired of the boring tasteless American Chinese food we are forced to eat then give this place a try. The people the work and run the the restaurant are all have been great every time I have been there.

Best Chinese restaurant in Long Island. Greatest! I may be move to Long Island because of here.

Wow this is actually a really good Chinese restaurant, the soup dumplings were actually really good, I don't have to make a trip to joe's shanghai anymore now since this place is more local and almost the same. Rib tips and chicken broccoli also delicious, definitely recommend. Place is a little small and can get busy but it is worth it ! Very clean and nice decor also.

They bill themselves as 'authentic' Chinese food and they are not just self promoting. Happily, this is not your typical take out joint found in every strip mall. Go beyond the recognizable and try something more cultured to expand your pallet.
It is true that the sit down service is not stellar, but that should not dampen your culinary experience - and isn't the food what it's all about ?

Amazing. best chinese i've ever had. vegetarian friendly, REAL meat, amazing flavors, friendly staff. potatoes & peppers is a must try. this place is better than any other chinese food in the area.

Good authentic food & friendly service. The GPS took me to the wrong location though. Just put in the mall with Starbucks & Texas Roadhouse until it’s fixed.

This is the best chinese food i've ever had in my life. For a drink I got the green bubble tea and it was amazing. Perfect amount of tapioca bubbles and it wasn't too sweet or too bitter, just right. I also ordered egg drop wonton soup which was also amazing, it came with 4 wontons all cooked to perfection. The highlight of my meal was the juicy steamed buns which are soup dumplings. They were also cooked to perfection, the meat inside was amazing and the soup that was inside with the meat was also amazing. They were very hot when they first came out but still amazing. I will definitely be coming back here.

    Excellent meal at fan

Snow ribs tips were fantastic. Powdered sugar and nice star anise flavor in the ribs. Messy but good not greasy.....

Pan sauted dumplings were soft and fluffy with appropriate filling amount.

Pea sprouts sauted with garlic were gorgeous.

We also had a steamed fish dish with bok Choi and a delicious sweet soy broth.

My son wanted egg rolls and they were also out of this world.

The smoked duck appetizer was really a delight as well. Crispy skin in 1/2 duck. Portioned nicely - of course a little fatty but all warm cooked fat lol - the hoisin with a piece made it absolutely mouth watering. It really need that bit of hoisin....

I'm not that far from here so I will be ordering takeout......

Really great chinese food. I am not that adventurous when it comes to chinese food. I usually stick to my few basics. I have been to FAN a few times and each time ive tried something different. Pork fried rice was the best i have ever had. Thats my test. If you can execute the basics then ill try something else.

I must say, the best part about FAN is the owner and the unbelievable hospitality. He speaks about the food with such passion and is always there willing to talk with each guest.

Bottom line is, check this place out. The basics are perfect so i can assume their authentic specialties are too. Its clean and newly renovated with a modern feel and the hospitality is top notch.

Amazing and delicious food! Very authentic and the decor is beautiful. Servers are very friendly and accommodating as well. I'm vegan and brought my non-vegan friends and they were able to recommend delicious vegan dishes for me as well. Would 10/10 come back again!

I've been away from New York and Deer Park for over 40 years. On a return trip with my adult children, I was looking for a place to share my remembrance of authentic Chinese food, not available in San Diego. A simple yelp found this place and we were delighted. Lovely family atmosphere and delicious delicious food. Please test your self and go to FAN Chinese Cuisine, it's worth a 3500 mile trip!

DELICIOUS, They just opened up a few weeks ago and they have hit the nail on the head. The only place around here with Bubbly Tea which is fun. Gets very busy -Unless you staying. Its best to order ahead then pick up.

This restaurant was recommended to me for having authentic Chinese food. The atmosphere was pleasant, the restaurant clean, wait staff prompt and attentive, and the food was tasty and different from any Chinese food I've had in the past. I enjoyed it and recommend.

Growing up in Queens we had Flushing around the corner and could always count on GOOD Chinese... FAN is the real deal! Finally, good Chinese food hits Long Island. They have the staples for those that want beef and broccoli but please try the beef in chili oil or any one of the many Szechuan dishes as they make it all FRESH! I AM A FAN FOR LiFE.
PS. Get the Wanton appetizer and ask for the traditional prep...it's gold.

Just wow. The dining room is a little small, but well done, and very clean. The food is absolutely incredible, and so flavorful. We will absolutely be back, and recommend this hidden gem to everyone we know.

This place, located in a little strip mall in Deer Park, serves shockingly good authentic Szechuan food. The beef in hot chili sauce was great, spicy, and came to the table bubbling over a burner. My girlfriend's spicy fried chicken was even better, complemented with a well-seasoned batter, hot peppers, and peanuts. The steamed juicy buns took a little while to come out, but were well worth it. Prices are more than fair for the quality of the food you get.

This is not your typical Chinese restaurant by any means. While they offer some usual Chinese-American dishes like general tso chicken, beef and broccoli, etc, the highlights of their menu are the Szechuan fare.

I really liked the bubble/boba tea. The boba was super chewy, and the original black tea wasn't too strong. I had the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. In general, it's pretty good. The beef was very tender, and the soup was delicious. I was a bit disappointed in the choice of noodles that was used. I was expecting a doughy flour noodle instead of spaghetti noodles. I saw a lot of people getting the soup dumplings, which I'll try next time.

  • *****

Very good food, worth the time. Have returned several times w/different choices, great each time.

Winner - Winner!!! You mean to tell me that I don't have to travel to great lengths to get quality authentic Chinese food.. that all I have to do is go to Deer Park and not have battle traffic or parking and I will be amazed that not everyone knows about this gem!! CRAZY, Right?? But so true!!!
Hubs and I came in on a quiet Monday night, looking for something out of the usual and ordinary and low and behold - BINGO!! Since I'm usually "that" girl that sticks to what she knows, of course I had the General Taos Chicken and YUMMO, nice flavor, crispy, chicken tender and moist and not overdone at all. Hubs had HUGE decisions to make for his entree, but he had the calamari wok entree and wanted to lick the hot wok clean!! Staff was great with making recommendations and YES, get those ribs for an appetizer!!! Pork pan fried dumplings were OK... better than some other local spots, but still tasty.
Will definitely be back to try more of the authentic cuisine. So yes, I am an FAN of FAN!!!

  • *****

I forgot to take pictures before we ate but it was delicious. The staff is extremely friendly. Definitely coming here again! And I would recommend the Snow Mountain Ribs! Fall off the bone delicious!!!

  • *****

place was very cute inside! food was great also. the chefs spicy chicken special was amazing, so EF N good!! definitely try that plate out. also had general tso chicken and a bubble tea. I did order pan fried dumplings and never received them which is ok because I was already full with the amount of food they give! overall everything was great. I'd def din in again

Hi Friends, welcome to the Fantastic Fan Chinese Fare in Deer Park, Long Island. I was really excited to see this hot new business on Yelp. A taste of my hometown Flushing all the way out on Long Island. Yeah baby ..I'm a FAN!
There were just so many wonderful dishes and taste sensations I didn't know where to start.

Free with Yelp check-in, the wonderfully juicy and delicious soup dumplings. Steamed tender to perfection, these little dumplings were packed with so many juicy flavors. Almost like that chewing gum that would squirt when you bit into it. To compliment the food, my server Tenlong, (who is also the manager) complemented our meal with homemade wasabi, HOT oil, Duck Sauce and other dipping favorites. This Wasabi was unlike any that I had eaten at a sushi restaurant or anywhere else. It was so hot and flavorful and spicy that even my FIRE eating friend Mikey commented that it lit him right up.

Next up on the appetizer cart where the delicious honey spare ribs tender and tasty they were diced into small bite-sized pieces that we also dipped in their hot hot sauces. We received free bubble tea with our check-in. Delicious,l smooth green tea packed with flavor. Also loves the coconut cream Tea, helped to put out the fire on the hot food. The manager highly recommended the HOT and spicy chicken wings, these were served on a bed of crispy fried Ginger. these were seriously delicious. The wings were hot juicy and crispy as hell. Paired with the duck sauce and wasabi we finished them quickly.

The main courses came to our table. We ordered the homemade smoked Peking the duck Masterpiece was served sliced and with hot buns two types of hoisin sauce and shredded scallion. This meal was so unusually, incredibly delicious. The manager briefed us on the preparation of this meal. It starts weeks ahead of time, as the Duck is homemade and smoked right on the premises. The crispy roast duck skin is achieved by separating the skin from The meat with a pump and then slowly roasting it so the natural duck fat enhances the crispiness of the skin. The duck was off-the-chart incredible. Just when I thought we had seen fans finest the Masterpiece meal of the evening was set before us.
Incredibly delicious was the Fresh chicken Szechuan stew. You won't see the Purdue truck pulling up to this place making chicken deliveries. Heck no.. this is a freshly killed bird straight from the Flushing chicken farms. This bird was strutting around just this morning. And now it's sweet and succulent in my stew. The flavors were just so amazing, I've never had a chicken this fresh before.

It really wasn't fair at all, FAN rolled out their freshest veggies and hottest peppers to compliment this meal. The chicken casserole was brought together with the most incredibly rich, spicy & flavorful Szechuan brown gravy I've ever had. And I'm loving that bowl of rice to cool things down.

We were impressed and blown away. I thought I had left authentic Chinese food in Flushing every time I left town. Not anymore.. I loved the beautiful way that the meals were decorated and presented here. The table settings and tea service beautifully ornate...
and even the napkins were beautifully thick with beautiful flower designs.

What a wonderful mixture of HOT and SPICY Szechuan style with just a hint of a western Flair to please all. I felt so comfortable and welcomed in this wonderful family owned Eatery. I'll be back with all my friends. I Wish that Yelp had more than FIVE stars.

Really good food best I have had in a while the only complaint I have it's that it's to small and felt overcrowded. Other then that great food would definitely buy again but for take out not dine in

What a lovely, attentive and informative staff. We were given a very special tea that the owner is famous for, delicious. We ordered spicy wontons, yummy but I could've taken more heat. The spicy fried chicken w peanuts ..omg it was so tasty. So ,perfectly fried..lol bits of yum w two varieties of peppers. We asked for their house hot pepper oil, best I've ever had.THEH ARE SERIOUS!Bubble tea,not that theirs is bad..I just never had it and that gelatinous bubble...different. We were continuously given the special tea and were not rushed as we chatted. My friend loved their soup dumplings, then the young man informed us of their origin and authenticity..which was pretty cool of him. They have many dishes that I look forward to trying!Stop in and if you check in:free bubble tea offer, try it.most really dig it.

Soup dumplings were not on the menu but asked for them and they were delicious. Staff was very friendly and trying hard--there were missteps--not told that they ran out of the ribs before we even ordered them until we asked what happened--but staff seemed to be trying hard. Chicken wings were delicious and nicely flavorfully spicy. Some of the dumplings were homemade and they were delicious and you could tell. We too were suspicious as it seems sometimes there are too many over the top five star reviews. We'll be back!

Excellent! Finally an excellent authentic Sichuan Chinese restaurant on Long Island. Soup dumplings/Xiao Long Bao- outstanding. Cripsy Pepper Chicken- on mark. Jia Jia Mung/Noodles with Brown sauce- nicely done. The owner was super enthusiastic about her offerings and despite the busy evening took the time to talk with me. The restaurant is located in a Deer Park Strip mall that offers ethnic cuisine which represents the changing face of Long Island/Suffolk County- there is a taqueria, pizzeria, Japanese, yogurt shop, Indian buffet. Eat in or out- the place is smartly decorated and clean- it is small but worth the wait.

Great food. Great service. Nothing like it in the area. Highly recommended. Plan on going back many times.

You know that thing, where the takeout is bland, and the General Tso's tastes just like the sesame chicken, and all the beef dishes taste like sliced pepper steak with onions? This is NOT that place. It's super legit and delicious, all the sauces made fresh, spicy means actually spicy (in a good and flavorful way). So glad we found this place among all the sub-par or totally terrible other Chinese places around LI that have disappointed us over the years.

  • *****

WOW!!! Finally a great chinese food restaurant! I haven't been this impressed in a long time! We had soup dumplings to start, they call them juicy buns. They were outrageous! The dough was nice and thin with a perfect balance of filling and soup inside. They make them handmade to order so just remember they take a little more time to get to the table...totally worth it! For our entrees we had the General Tso's chicken and the Vietnamese beef soup. Both were DELICIOUS! The chicken didn't have a thick batter like you would normally see and the coating was crispy and fresh. I've never had anything like it...I'm hooked! The soup tasted completely homemade, not filled with artificial soup mix. All fresh ingredients and the taste was just amazing. I can't wait to try everything on this menu! I'm going back tonight!!

  • *****

This is definitely the best Chinese food I've had. I ordered the chicken lo mein and it was filled with crisp veggies and the chicken was delish! I also ordered the spring rolls for an app and they were extremely crispy and delicious. The only thing I can complain about is that they brought out everyone's food at different times. Like every 3 one of us had our food brought out. By the time everyone had their food and we all ate my lo mein was cold.

  • *****

YES!!! I love this place. First of all, staff is soo great. They're super informative about the type of food and it's originality....and the originality shows!!
So far, I've only gone for the basic chicken and Broccoli but it's the best around!
Their soup dumplings (juicy buns) are so delicious and flavorful. I can't get enough of them!
I cannot wait to come and try more.
It's a cozy, clean spot too.
    Must try!!

Check out this new spot , you will not be disappointed .. service is excellent, portions are for two , so be prepared to brown bag. I agree there is always room for improvement, but having said that , its authentic Chinese cuisine..

  • *****

They have actual chinese food, and I’d say their soup dumplings are better flavored than joe’s shanghai. Get the soup dumplings. Get the beef tendon. Get the beef noodle soup. Get the scallion pancake. Come here for some culture, it’s hard to find in LI!

The latest more authentic Chinese restaurant opened up in Deer Park has a few minor things to work out but I think this place will be successful. They serve a mix of Taiwanese, Szechuan and northern Chinese dishes with a some Chinese American staples to satisfy all palates. Started with steamed pork dumplings which were plump and flavorful. We were given complimentary soup dumplings which was a nice welcome to the neighborhood gesture. Only problem is though the filling was delicious, there was no soup in them. I pierced it in my spoon thinking a nice broth would ooze out but there was nothing. The chef may want to work on that. The Taiwanese braised beef and noodle soup had good flavor and the sliced brisket was well marinated and super tender. Best was the Ma La Spicy Pot which is build your own dish with various meats and veggies to choose from. Very fresh, tasted great and even the mildly spicy has a good kick to it. Service is welcoming, helpful and friendly and prices are reasonable for the large portions. Will definitely be back for more and recommended if you like authentic Chinese cuisine.

  • *****

Finally someplace local that serves authentic Chinese food! I will definitely be back here and tell everyone about it to support them.

Checked this place out after a notification for it popped on my phone, saw the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and had to check it out. Despite my initial skepticism, I was not disappointed!
As with any Chinese restaurant, I ordered General Tso's Chicken. Oddly, they don't offer a combination platter like other Chinese places, so this only came with white rice, which I typically avoid cause it's bland and uninteresting. I typically prefer fried rice, which is available here, but only a la carte.
They also did not have the typical fried wontons as a side dish appetizer, which was admittedly another disappointment. The closest the menu offers are fried dumplings, which I did not try solely on the possibility that they would be like the fried dumplings available at other Chinese places. These are usually a very heavy noodle pan fried on one side, which leaves the other side too doughy for my tastes. With these culinary prejudices in mind, here is the tale of the culinary tape:

    General Tso's Chicken
    - Medium/large sized chunks of chicken.
    - Chicken coating was actually crunchy, and I did not eat it immediately, as I drove home. Usually when you get take-out, and as everyone who gets take-out knows, a hot dish in a closed container steams the crunchy right out of it in minutes. In this case, to my surprise, that didn't happen!
    - The chicken was not drowning in sauce, and had a good flavor. The only thing that would have made it any better was if it had a bit more of the spicy zing that this dish is supposed to have (and is oddly and unfortunately absent in this dish at the majority of Chinese take-outs/restaurants).

This is among the best General Tso's chicken I've ever had, which is a short list indeed . . .

    Pork Fried Rice
    - A subtle flavor, but what makes this stand out are the large pieces of onion, the pea pods, and the long shredded (instead of small chunks) of pork (see my picture).

    Conclusion
Despite the disappointments noted above, this place is very impressive indeed! In my opinion, the good reviews are valid, and I will return here again . . .

Finally got my husband to go out to eat Chinese as we always order in. I now have a happy husband who agreed that an in person visit here was definitely warranted! We tried 2 dishes tonight that we never had before. MaLa spicy pot with a choice of calamari, shrimp and scallops. Perfect 1st time try with a spicy heat. You get to pick your spicyness as well as protein and vegetables. You must try this!! Next was Sliced Beef in hot chili oil. It arrives in a small pot like a mini wok that sits on a sterno flame. Not a fan of sterno as not only did it smell but caused the dish to boil. It took over 15 min to cool enough to eat. However, the wait was worth every min. Beef was tender and the bean sprouts wonderful. Yes it was spicy so bring a tissue to wipe your nose.
The staff is most helpful and are happy to suggest what to order. Can't wait to go back!

Just left FAN , one word , DELICIOUS! Maybe the best chinese food i ve eaten, ever! I had the sizzling steak which was like a Chinese steak fajita, the steak was perfectly cooked and the the black pepper was addicting. My wife and daughter had the shrimp lo mein and that was also FantastiC. We split Veg fried rice and fried dumplings , everrything was so fesh and super tasty. The portion size was BIG ! The owners are very accomidating and personable . Super clean and modern inside, it was very comfortable. I plan on making a stop there whenever im in the area! If you are fortunate enough to live or work close, you should definately make FAN your chinese food spot! Check out their instagram @fanfoodcorp88 to see their AWESOME DISHES!

This spot def has some authentic Chinese cuisine, loved it! I stopped in this place quick for a bubble tea and ended up coming back a few days later and dining in.. we had a really good experience.... firstly, this spot is located in a now very busy shopping center located right on Commack road... everyone's bustling around in this parking lot and it's always jam packed, I'm sure this place will do well here...

This place is so cute inside, I love a nice, modern, intimate spot.. makes me enjoy my food more lol. We opted for the amazing ribs, def bursting with flavor and kind of tasting like Korean bbq... but also very unique.. bone in some pieces and the meat was just so tender and falling off of it, really a good starter... also had the soup dumpling, while they are smaller in size, they are still so good! They def had soup and pork on the inside, it was my friends first time tasting them and she loved it! Plus they're free when you dine in, I think the free portion is smaller vs the regular deal... which is fine .. it's still a good thing to do when trying to build your rep, I SEE YOU FAN.

Also had the yang chow fried rice which is a compilation of proteins (pork, chicken, and shrimp) all tossed into a yummy fried rice dish that we literally devoured. You can tell that's it's freshly made and isn't like your typical sodium overloaded fried rice that you might be used to....it's so light and a good sharing dish for the table... the chicken with string beans were also very fresh with large pieces of chicken. We really loved all of our food in here and it's so close by that I'll def make this my new spot! And they have bubble tea !!! Taro is def my fav but I'll take an original any day too. Def don't have to travel for flushing to get some authentic eats or bubbles !

I did notice that there was a lot of food sharing at other tables too.. soup, always a good starter, was brought out to tables in a large bowl for people to share in smaller bowls, I love that... it's a good spot to come in and try a ton of stuff on the menu.. I'm looking forward to doing that! FAN is fam :)

Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and informative. Modern atmosphere. Take-out and sit down available. I highly recommend a visit, you won't regret it. The golden sand seafood fried rice was perfect. Sesame beef is soft and flavorful. I would definitely come again. Thanks for the experience.

Place is pleasant, staff is very friendly and explain the different dishes to you. The food is also very tasty. I love the fact that finally we can have authentic Chinese food in Deer Park. My 10 and 5 year old devoured the Bean Sprouts. Need I say more?

The best Chinese food ever, came with my boyfriend (the pickiest ever) and we just loved it. Very tasty not overly salt, extremely fresh and delicious food you can obviously tell is made with love. We got the snow mountain spare ribs, walnut mayo shrimp and sliced beef with garlic sauce with mixed vegetables and complimentary soup dumplings. Would recommend all of the above. They were extremely nice and explained to us exactly what we ordered cause we were not familiar with traditional Chinese food very well and we ended up loving everything we ordered. Also the pictures they display of their food on the menu look exactly what they are

First off Let me state the Pros. I am so excited to have this new Authentic Chinese restaurant about 6 miles away from me. The young staff were working hard to get everything done & make all customers happy. 5 stars for their effort. Love the decor & modern coziness of the dining area.

Head over heels in love with the Ma Po Tofu with Fish Fillet! Excellent dish! The perfect balance of creamy tofu & fried fish fillet in an amazing spicy sauce. Get it!
The Onion & Scallion Chicken Wings were delicious! Loved the crunchy fried onions with this dish.

I'm not about to tell anyone I'm an expert on Authentic Chinese or Sichuan Province cooking. I just know what I like & remember this is just my opinion.
Now my reason for 4 stars & not 5 is as follows, because there's always room for improvement right? Let me explain why.

My all time favorite Sichuan dish an order of Hot & Sour Noodles was very flavorful but wasn't offered the option of pork intestines like other "Authentic" restaurants. So I asked for Beef Tripe but was told they didn't have it. Yes it's on the menu, just not available yet I guess. So I then asked for Beef Tendon to be added. Instead sliced beef was added. Ok, that'll work for now. Although the broth & noodles were excellent, exactly what I had expected & hoped for in flavor. What I wanted was the gelatinous tendon to replace the pork intestines that I'm used to. Maybe next time. A Delicious dish none the less. I will definitely order this again.

All of these 5 star reviews I'm sure are 5 Star when compared to any other local American style Chinese restaurant. But when compared to the Authentic Chinese & Sichuan I've had in Flushing & several Long Island places such as Yao's Diner, Spicy Home Tasty & Chef Wang, this place has excellent flavor but missing a little something in the Authentic choices. Such as Ox tongue, Kidneys, pork intestines, etc. Which I'm sure may be a perfect fit for Deer Park because this is definitely not Flushing. But the food here brings me that much closer without having to make the drive and deal with the parking LOL.

My first experience was a dine in experience and reflected the newness. Although I showed up around 1pm I was informed the Lunch Specials were only available for take out. Hmmmm... that's a first. Then my complimentary order of Xiao Long Bao aka Soup Dumplings or Juicy Buns arrived after my meal were very small and had no juice whatsoever. Disappointing since everyone else raved about the buns here. The flavor of the pork was good but juicy buns need to be juicy. I'm sure they will be ironing the kinks out with time. So for that reason even with the missteps, I am declaring FAN my new favorite go to Chinese restaurant. Even though I have 4 restaurants by me that are waaay closer. The food in no way compares to the deliciousness FAN is offering. I'm excited at the anticipation to push it to 5 stars. Until then...

I'm a FAN!!! This review takes into consideration delivery. Called to check if they deliver and guess they're still getting settled - their flyer says delivery and I live less than 2 miles. Person I spoke to on the phone wasn't sure then said min for delivery is $40.?? Okay, was lazy and wanted to try the food. OMG! Food was divine and would've given 5 stars! Authentic, not greasy flavors and was uber happy not to drive to The city to get this. One less star due to the higher amount required for regular delivery and the "soup dumplings" ppl love, though very very tasty, isn't the real thing. Still, i can say in all of Long Island the best dumplings and I smiled all the way eating them and the spicy crispy fish with peppers! Truly truly bursting with flavors and not greasy.

I look forward to dining in and trying more!

If your looking for authentic Chinese cuisine this is it. Food is fresh made to order. They do not use premade or frozen ingredients. Bubble tea was great. Venue is small and intimate but take out is available. Hoste was very friendly and explained the menu items well. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly.

My family and I stopped into FAN last night and dinner was amazing. The portions were large, (family style) and the food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely come again.

My friends and I decided to try this on a whim. Easily the best Chinese food I've ever had. All of the dumplings are great. The snow mountain spare ribs were amazing. The entrees are big enough to be split family style. We ordered 6 entrees between all of us and every single one was great. The double cooked pork slices and the shredded pork in garlic sauce were the group favorite. The service is also incredibly friendly. We'll definitely be coming back here a lot.

Best Chinese food without the city trip. Absolutely a must. Everything is fresh. If they run out of something, it's out for the day, so get here early.

This place has the best soup dumplings!! We went to this place by chance and I would say it was the best decision we made that day ;)

Tried the beef pepper steak and crispy pepper chicken on our server's recommendation. Food and service was really good! Would definitely visit again.

Stopped by for lunch. Had the cumin lamb, shrimp broccoli, orange chicken soup dumplings, wontons chili oil. The food was pretty good. Cumin lamb was spicy, moist a lot of cumin flavor. The soup dumpling were on the house. A little small, but had decent flavor. The wontons were just ok. The sauce was too salty. The service was a little disorganized. Apps. came after entrees and they forgot an entree. They had to be reminded, but the owner and staff seemed very eager to please The owner apologized for the way the meal was served. I will definitely return to sample some more items, but this place is shaping up to be the best Chinese option in the area.

Walking into FAN you think that you're in another era. The decoration is very modern and neat. The long sofa bench and tables have a very nice color contrast(black and white). Its my first time here and we walked in and were seated immediately. Within seconds we had ice cold lemon water and our menu.

The design of the menu is very interesting with LOTS of pictures and the waiter was very patient when explaining each question we had.

I ordered pan fried pork dumplings and the crispy jumbo walnut mayo shrimp. My friend ordered the house special dry fried chicken with Szechuan Pepper clear and sauted baby bok choy.

Everything was delicious and cooked just right, I also ordered a bubble tea. A little to sweet but otherwise everything was really nice.

We will definitely be going back!

We decided to go for Sichuan Chinese food for dinner tonight, traditionally this cuisine has very spicy dishes but I heard this place was fairly mild and rather full of flavors. When I asked the waiter, he was very kind and patient with my order. I asked for lite spicy on all my dishes and the spiciness came out just right.

The dan dan noodles (make sure you mix it well) was so satisfying to eat. The Stir Fried Beef with Onions and Scallions was also very tasty, mapo tofu was good. We ordered beef tendons but it was very thinly sliced, something I'm not use to.

We also ordered Pork Lo Mein - which is probably the whitest thing I could order (besides General Tso's) - but I wanted noodles. I will say in my life this is the BEST lo mein ive ever had!

overall i would say this is the best authentic Chinese dine-in restaurant that you can ask for here at Deer Park. We will definitely be back for many times.

By casualty, I stumbled into F-A-N as I was passing by Deer Park, NY. OMG, This place is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I ordered a chef special appetizer, sort of like BBQ Ribs, the flavour of authentic Chinese BBQ was there with a twist of modern - Then The Green Onion Rice was a total "Success". Last but not least you need to try their "Xiaolongbao" - they automatically transported me back in Shanghai, so - but so good, two thumbs UP GUYS!!!

I was several hours into a road trip hoping to stumble upon something edible and saw a Dairy Queen sign just off the freeway and figured, sure, that'll do. Luckily I saw a bunch of cars parking and people wandering into Sod Busters just a little ways further along. I figured with such brisk business from the locals it was worth a shot, so I swung on in.

It was brunch time when we got there. Coffee was very good and obviously fresh brewed. I had a scramble and pancakes, my wife had the chicken fried steak and biscuits. Both were very well executed and priced well.

Service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is very much relaxed and conducive to larger groups with many 4 person booths and several large tables that were sitting parties of 8.

If I'm ever nearby again, I'd surely stop in again.

Good food. Nice service. We stopped here while road tripping. Go on in.

Classic small town America, homey, comfort-food, non-greasy spoon with all the greatest hits and some simple tasty extras. The type of food many people call "diner", but in the rural "country farm" setting rather than a slick hopping diner.

Just stopped once, but the bright clean atmosphere and friendly people suggest my experience was not unusual. Very friendly, attentive, accommodating wait staff, excellent food for this category of eating places.

I'm a real coffee snob (to me, Starbucks is in the same league as Folger's) and the coffee was fantastic with generous refills.

There weren't times listed on the menu, so it's possible they might offer everything all day as similar places do. My simple scrambled eggs and pancakes were excellent (I've not enjoyed a pancake, period, in more years than I can count). The German Sausage is delicious, and my companion's meaty omelette was gigantic. However, in delivering large portions they don't do like many places do: replace quality with quantity.

So if you're passing through this quaint little town, don't be drawn in by the comfortable familiar Subway and Dairy Queen: take the time to make a stop at Sod Buster's (I hear they do to-go orders as well), and have a real meal on the road.

Good hearty breakfast. Did enjoy the chicken fried steak as it was freshly prepared and the gravy was very tasty. Coffee was mediocre diner coffee, but stronger than most, so that's a point in its favor. Dcor was basic and comfy if not a bit sparse. Definitely a good breakfast place and about the only one in town it seemed. I drove down Main Street and most places were lunch/dinner places save one coffee joint. I'd definitely go back.

The only reason we went on that Thursday evening was that my in-laws has been raving about their chicken fried steak (they stopped by there once a year) and they claimed to never have a bad experience there so we decided to take them there for dinner this time around.

I was a little hesitant reading some negative reviews from another website, but we decided to go anyway and I had to admit that I'm so glad we went.

Sod Busters cafe is a charming, cozy, clean lil' 'diner'. It was well-lit, nicely decorated, clean, rather kitschy too (by the cashier, you can find locally printed funny/humor books for sale, and after skimming through them, they're funny as hell) and the staffs-- the waitresses--were great. We got the same waitress who waited on my in-laws last year too. She was awesome. She was nothing but friendly, helpful and accommodating.

And at one point, another waitress who wasn't waiting on our table even would fill up our drinks when our waitress isn't around. And it was rather busy evening, what with the crowd coming in after a junior-high football game, but the service remained great regardless.

My m-i-l ordered the Chef salad, while hub, myself and father-in-law settled on the chicken fried steak. Our son got fish and chips. The portion was BIG, and it came either with soup and salad (and beautiful huge dinner toast). The salad was fresh, the fried steak was great (fluffy mashed potatoes, delicious white gravy--and the portion was so big that we had to have doggie bags); the coffee is excellent and the kiddo even insisted on cherry pie ala mode after dinner. I had a taste of the pie too, I must admit although I normally dislike cherry pies, but this one was freshly made and delicious!

Overall, it was very very good experience. Next year, we'd make sure to stop by again when we went camping by Goldendale.

If you want a high end restaurant and/or gourmet food don't stop in a small country town. This is a nice, family restaurant with decent food. Both our meals were good and we had no complaints. The place was clean and quiet. Most of the tables were full. The service was adequate. Staff could have. been more welcoming and friendlier but they were not rude by any means. I would not rave about this place or go out of my way to eat here. However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone passing through and will eat here again on my next trip North.

I've eaten here many times over the years. Pretty decent food, consistently. Reasonable prices. The service is usually great. Sod Busters is the best food I've found in Goldendale although there are a few other "ok" restaurant and a few that I have not tried yet.

  • *****

Family dining, your standard restaurant among limited options for this small town. Decent food for the money, just wish they offered premium coffe

Just off the highway and worth the trip. Friendly, good service. Reasonable prices. Homecooked. Chicken noodle soup even had hand made noodles! Ask a local where it's at, they may be trying to keep it a secret. Salad was a bit of a disappointment...iceberg, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 slices of cucumber. ..but still okay.
